Doobally Cottage

Doobally Cottage

Location: Ballyshannon, County Donegal

Project Description: This was another very special project. Doobally Cottage could quite well be the oldest cottage in Ireland and is currently being carbon dated in Queen's University, Belfast. Undoubtedly one of our favourite locations to have worked with not a sound of modern noise in the background, only the birds and wildlife for company on this one.

Scope of Works: A full re-thatch, including a sympathetic extension and a major restoration of stonework and carpentry inside and out, fully re-plastered with Lime mortar plaster, including new stone chimneys and underfloor heating with lime-crete screed. This one was a labour of love from start to finish!
